The Cluster Catalonia Logistics, together with Fincargo, hosted the webinar “e-CMR and e-Document of Control: what to do, what not to do and the technological decisions”, a session focused on the key aspects that transport companies need to consider as the digitalisation of transport documentation progresses.
The session, led by Agustí Palacio, head of Fincargo Iberia, and Ricardo Lucientes, transport and logistics consultant and advisor, explored what companies should do and avoid during the implementation process, as well as the different technological options available.
One of the main topics discussed was the need to integrate DECA and e-CMR into the systems companies already use, avoiding duplicated processes and facilitating information exchange between the different stakeholders in the logistics chain. In this context, interoperability is key to connecting TMS, ERP, transport platforms and other digital tools.
The webinar also focused on the role of artificial intelligence, particularly its ability to transform information from transport documents into structured and actionable data, helping to automate tasks and streamline processes.
Overall, the session provided a practical perspective on how to approach the digitalisation of transport, highlighting the decisions companies will need to make to adapt their processes and technological tools to this new environment.
